The original slapper is made of ash, a softwood that itself has a beautiful pattern with a hint of orange. To enhance the wood's properties, the slapper has been infused with Bankirai oil, which has a slight red tint. The slapper is made and decorated using the ancient Japanese Sugi ban method. At on customer's request, it is possible to paint the slicer in another color or use colorless oil for treatment.
